Harry Potter World Cup: Cedric Versus Narcissa
Welcome to MTV's Harry Potter World Cup! We've selected 64 of the best "Harry Potter" characters and matched them up in a series of duels for a chance at magical glory, but it's up to YOU to decide who the greatest "Potter" character of all time is in this pool of wizards and witches. Will the Death Eaters destroy Hogwarts, or will good triumph over evil? In the end, the choice is yours, so keep voting at MTV Movies Blog and make your voice heard!
So, here we are. It's perhaps the most highly anticipated and deeply dreaded duel not just of the Hogsmeade division, but of the entire Harry Potter World Cup as it stands: Cedric Diggory versus Narcissa Malfoy. Let's just take a deep breath and dive straight into it, shall we?
Voting for all second round match-ups will close on Friday, July 1 at 12:01 AM EST, so make sure to start voting now.
(3) Cedric Diggory vs. (11) Narcissa Malfoy
What happened to Luna Lovegood? Whether she was defeated by pro-Cedric voters putting their support behind Narcissa or on Narcissa's own merit is still a question that's very much up in the air. The conspiracy, as it were, remains unsolved. But there's little time left to mourn Luna's loss. With voting ending in less than 36 hours, the duel between the late Hufflepuff hero and the Malfoy matriarch is bound to be intense. Will Narcissa's potentially plentiful fan base come out and decimate Cedric? Or will a landslide victory for the deceased Diggory answer the lingering mystery of Luna's defeat once and for all? It's up to you, voters -- personally speaking, I am very curious to see how this duel plays out.

Because there are so many questions surrounding this latest duel, we reached out to our regular stable of World Cup experts (plus special guest Laura Cristiano from Twilight Lexicon) to weigh in on what we've dubbed The Cedric Factor. See what they think about last week's battle and the current match in the video below.

Harry Potter's Rupert Grint mentions Rob in interview
In a new interview with Attitude Magazine, Harry Potter star Rupert Grint talked briefly about former co-star Robert Pattinson.
Q: The films have spawned lots of big stars, such as Robert Pattinson. Are you a fan of the Twilight films?
R: Yeah, definitely. There’s no rivalry. I’ve only seen one-and-a-half of them. My sisters love them. It’s great to see Robert in this huge thing.I was pleased for him.Q: Do you keep in contact?
R: Not really. The last time I saw him was just before he got the Twilight job. I think ii was at the fifth film premiere. he just happened to be walking past as he wasn’t originally invited because he wasn’t in that film. (Laughs).
Cedric Diggory Moves To The Next Round!
The first round of the Harry Potter World Cup has drawn to a close, narrowing the playing field down from the original 64 wizards and witches to a smaller pool of 32 heroes and villains. For the most part, the people you expected to move on havemoved on — with some notable exceptions, of course — and as we step forward into Round 2 today, I think you'll find that there are some very, very difficult decisions on the horizon.
But before we look forward, let's look back at what happened in the first round. Get the highlights from Round 1 of the Harry Potter World Cup!
Lights Out For Luna
Of all these matches, there's no question as to which one contained the biggest surprise: the neck-and-neck competition between Luna Lovegood and Narcissa Malfoy. What should have been an absolute blowout on Luna's part turned into a fierce duel in which the two witches traded positions of dominance all the way through the poll's closing. In the end, evil triumphed over good, and Luna lost. Some believe that she fell due to Cedric Diggory (also known as You Know Who in this tournament) fans hoping to clear the way for an easier second round victory. Others argue that, hey, Narcissa is simply underrated and awesome. Either way, it was a hard fought battle that sets the stage for an even more intense showdown between Narcissa and Cedric this coming Wednesday
