Edward Cullen Is A Safe Vampire...

A vampire academic of the University of Texas has described the Robert Pattinson's Twilight character Edward Cullen as a 'starter vamp'.
Dr Thomas Garza, a vampire expert and who teaches vampire lore recently commented on the popular Twilight novels written by Stephanie Meyer. He explained the books and movie series have created a new vampire trend.
He told Reuters: "I would say that it is The Twilight Saga in particular that has brought out the younger teen fans. In that connection, Edward is a very 'safe' vampire, a kind of 'starter vamp' for beginners, if you will.".

Moviefone's Sexiest Vampires In Movies

Regardless of where or when a vampire movie is set, nearly all of them take advantage of that oh-so-cinematic feature of blood-suckers: They're just so damn hot. Men and women alike, it doesn't matter -- if a vampire sets its sights on you, you have almost no choice but to submit. And with the likes of the stunningly seductive ladies and gentlemen in our gallery of the sexiest vampires in movies, we can see why their victims have such a hard time resisting.

7. Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) in 'Twilight'

Probably the biggest teen heartthrob in the world these days (sorry, Bieber), do we really need to explain Pattinson's appeal? (Just Google some 'Twilight' fan fiction if you want.)

Kellan Lutz Didn't Want Edward Cullen Role In 'Twilight'

wilight star Kellan Lutz says he turned down his chance to land Robert Pattinson's role in the series of movies that has helped make him a household name. But why?

There are tons of young, struggling actors in Hollywood that would have loved to get the chance to audition for the role of Edward Cullen in the Twilight movies. However, Kellan said he turned down the opportunity multiple times because he thought the part was "too depressing," telling his agent that he wanted "to do something where I smile."

However, his agent knew that Twilight was going to be big and pushed him to read for the more comedic role of Emmett, and Kellan Lutz was lucky that he fell in love with that character. So you hear that, Robert Pattinson? The only reason you ended up playing Edward Cullen was because Kellan Lutz didn't want to.

It's funny that Kellan found the world's most desirable man (vampire?) depressing, but hopefully he doesn't let a lack of smiles ruin his movie career -- he's best-suited for action-packed movie roles, and they don't usually call for a lot of hamming it up on camera.

Edward and Bella among the Seventeen's Cutest TV and Movie Couples List

Edward Cullen and Bella Swan, Twilight
Here’s a love that will literally last forever. This couple has had an intense bond since they first met when Bella moved to Forks, Washington. Edward was so attracted to Bella (well…Bella’s smell) that he couldn’t even attend school! Since that initial encounter in science class, Bella and Edward have risked everything to be with one another.

Edward & Bella among The 9 Sexiest Movie Couples Ever... This Millennium

Chemistry is a funny thing. Some couples have it, some couples don’t. If the trailer for "Friends with Benefits" is any indication, Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis most definitely have that special something. It doesn't hurt that they’re both madly attractive stars with banging bodies.

In honor of this sexy pairing -- thank you, casting gods! -- we've compiled our picks for the hottest on-screen couples to grace the silver screen this century (ie, since 2000). Guys, loosen up that collar. Ladies, turn on that AC.

3. Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart, 'Twilight'
Pattinson and Stewart have crazy chemistry, but as Edward and Bella, they spend the first three movies abstaining for fear of turning Bella into a blood sucker. Thankfully for them (and us), they give in to their desires in "Breaking Dawn." Expect all hell to break loose, in a good way.

Edward & Bella Are Way More Epic Than Ron & Hermione

Welcome to our "Harry Potter"/"Twilight" point-counterpoint on the two franchises' supercouples. Who's more epic: Hermione and Ron, or Edward and Bella? Ryan McKee argues on behalf of "Twilight" lovers Edward and Bella below; read Sandie Angulo Chen's take on "Harry Potter" sweethearts Ron and Hermione here.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Summit
When NextMovie's editor told me Sandie Angulo Chen was writing a piece arguing Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger are a more epic couple than Bella and Edward, I thought, "Who?"
Not Sandie, I know who she is. She's been on my s**t list since last year for claiming there are no positive role models in "Eclipse." What? How about my girl Jessica Stanley (Anna Kendrick) earning valedictorian honors over vampire students who can read minds and see the future?
I digress. I thought, "Who?" referring to Ron and Hermione. It took me a moment to compute that Sandie claims Harry Potter's second fiddles are an epic couple. From what I gleaned by watching "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (it features R.Pattz), Hermione is cute and smart, but still doesn't have enough sense to fall in love with the hero (or even R.Pattz's character, for that matter). And Ron... that dude looks terrified 90 percent of the time and is constantly scrambling for his lost pet rat.
I was asked if I wanted to write an opposing argument. Easy money! Bella and Edward taking on Ron and Hermione is like LeBron James and Dwayne Wade playing two-on-two against Dobby and Filius Flitwick (for the record: I looked those references up). Let the battle begin

Edward & Bella V. Hermione & Ron — Which Significant Kiss Are You More Excited To See?

We have two very exciting smooches coming up in both ‘Breaking Dawn’ and ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2′ when Edward and Bella first kiss as husband and wife and when besties Hermione and Ron lock lips for the first time — which is more exciting?

You know that feeling you get when you’re watching a movie and the two main characters are inching forward towards their first kiss and you get butterflies in anticipation of how — hopefully — exciting their chemistry will be? Well that feeling is on steroids when you’ve been waiting for that kiss for months, or even years, ahead of the movie since you’ve already read the books! Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Bella Swan’s (Kristen Stewart) first kiss as husband and wife will be epic when Breaking Dawn: Part 1 airs in November. Just as legendary? When Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) and Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) have their very first kiss in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 which hits theaters on July 15!
Bella and Edward have endured a lot in their relationship, and we can’t wait to see them married. Their first kiss after they say “I do” is definitely monumental, but it’s up to you to decide whether or not it should be more or less anticipated than Hermione and Ron’s first kiss. The Harry Potter pair have been best friends, along with Harry, ever since they first came to Hogwarts. That first kiss could (and does) change everything!

Miranda Richardson is Team Edward

Even though you’re not a part of the final Harry Potter film, do you have any final thoughts on the closure of the series?
RICHARDSON: Oh, I’m looking forward to Breaking Dawn! I think it’s a great thing to be part of. I do, truly. I think it’s something that’s going to last. Even though the special effects move on, at a fast pace, I think that the storytelling, which is of prime importance, is pretty great, during that franchise. I think there’s a back-and-forth that happens. The kids don’t just see the movies, but they also read the books. It doesn’t matter if they read them before or after. There’s a wish and a will to get involved in that world, which is great. I know that the stories have a lot of detractors, but [J.K. Rowling] got people reading again, in a mass way.

What is it about Breaking Dawn that you’re so excited about?
RICHARDSON: Oh, I’m a huge Twilight fan! I love it! Maybe they’ll invite me to the premiere now.

Are you Team Edward or Team Jacob?
RICHARDSON: Oh God, don’t do that! I’m Team Edward.
