INDIAN tennis sensation Sania Mirza has got married to former Pakistani cricket captain Shoaib Malik at Hotel Taj Krishna in Hyderabad on Monday.It held around 1.15 PM as per Muslim religious traditions.

The nikah(marriage) was done in the presence of some selected friends and family members of the Sania mirza and Shoaib malik’s family. As Sania’s family was facing a lot of problems as Shoiab was living at Sania’s residence which is not allowed according to the muslim religion. Family members of Sania mirza and close relatives of shoaib Malik, including his sisters and brothers-in-law attended the wedding function.

Actually, the marriage was to take place on April 15 although stories on the re-scheduling of the marriage kept coming in the media. ‘Mehendi’ is scheduled for April 13, Sangeet on April 14 and reception will be held on April 15 as scheduled.

Interseting thing, the Sania will be wearing a “lehnga” (Marriage Saree) which will cost near seventy five lakhs but she finally she wore her mother’s wedding “lehnga”. Sania was looking totally amazing in that red coloured stunning “lehnga” and on the other hand Shoaib Malik were looking handsome Pakistani Groom in his black designer “sherwani”.

Shoaib Malik-Sania Mirza marriage in trouble?

Shoaib Malik can marry Sania Mirza on 15th April, according to the chief priest of Hyderabad, Qazi Mohammed Najummudin Hussain, under Islamic law, in India, a man can even marry upto four times, without obtaining a divorce.

"If a man wants to marry more than once, under Islamic law, he can. A divorce is not necessary. He can keep both his wives," says Qazi Mohammed Najumuddin Hussain, Sania admits she is upset with these developments but says the wedding date will not be postponed.

"Our marriage is taking place on the 15th only. If it is postponed, we will let you know", she says. The family of Ayesha Siddiqui who claims to be Shoaib's wife, is demanding that he accept his guilt and publicly divorce her. Wali-ur-Rahman, Ayesha's lawyer says, "If anyone has done a fraud, he has to be punished. He has to be arrested. He has to accept his guilt.''

New IPL teams hit the grounds today.

Two new owners for two new city teams of the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket will emerge from a list of 14 probables on Sunday when IPL the BCCI announces the names of the successful bidders. Stiff competition between the buyers however could make their deal over-priced with some experts pegging the winning bid at around $400 million, as against the base price of $225 million. During the tender process held earlier this month, Videocon Industries and Adani Group are believed to have put in bids of around $250-275 million each. However, these bids were cancelled after the IPL governing council decided to call for a re-tender.

KARACHI: A four-wicket haul from all-rounder Waqas Ahmed helped Lahore Lions outplay Multan Tigers by 2 runs in the National Twenty20 Cup at the National Stadium here on Thursday. It was Lions third straight win in the tournament. In chase of 167, Kashif Naved shone with a 42-ball 58, which included 5 fours and 2sixes. He was supported by Rameez Alam’s 33 but Waqas picked up wickets regularly after the pair were dismissed to turn the game in Lions favour. Earlier, Lions had slipped to 41 for 3 in their innings but were revived by the Akmal brothers, Umar and Kamran, who added 54 for the fourth wicket. Umar went on to score 64 while Waqas dealt some lusty blows at the death to lift Lions to a score that proved just about adequate.
